Get to
know me
If you have found yourself on my page, you might be wondering what therapy is like and whether it could help you or not?
Let me start by saying therapy is hard! It takes courage to approach our own pain, suffering and challenges that life can throw at us. Add in to that, the stranger factor (you start the process having no idea what I am like as a therapist or even a person). It’s tough!
If that hasn’t put you off yet, I also can’t promise I will be able to resolve everything you bring to therapy. As human beings, we have ‘tricky brains’ which can do the most amazing things but are also vulnerable to pain, hurt and suffering.
Naturally, many of us will try to avoid that. I wish it was easy to heal or remove it but the bad news is, it’s not! I realise I’m not selling the idea of therapy too well here, it’s HARD, there are no guarantees of success, you will almost certainly have to connect with some level of pain, suffering and vulnerability and you do this with someone you have only just met (at least at the start!).
However, if that still hasn’t put you off, then I do have some better news. From my years of experience working as a therapist and working with people from all walks of life (each with a brain - remember as humans we all have tricky brains!), I can honestly say those who seek therapy with courage and commitment can achieve great things.
For some, that may be small changes, for some it may be life changing (genuinely). As a therapist, I take personal and professional pride in the responsibility that comes with helping another person to try to heal and relieve their suffering. I fully commit to you that I will do my best to support you to the best of my ability through that process.
If you feel you are ready to take that step, check out the FAQ’s or book a consultation.
